Easy, Healthy and Achievable goals for your New Years Resolutions

January marks the beginning of a new year. With a new year also comes New Year's resolutions and new goals that many of us want to attain for the year to come. While the New Year can bring lots of joy to new people it could also make people have some unrealistic expectations of what they want to happen. It isn't always healthy for us to immediately try and uproot ourselves into a different version of ourselves. Here are some ways to make goals attainable during this new year while taking extra care of yourself and your mental health!

How does an achievable New Year’s resolution look for me?

While it is okay for you to want a refresh for the new year it is also essential to remind yourself that it is okay if not everything goes to plan. With this, you can create an achievable resolution for this new year. Here are some ways you can look at this with a new perspective and a different approach:

  1.  Make your big goals into small ones; Try breaking them down so that you have little steps along the way and there is less pressure to achieve them at a certain point.

  2. Make more meaningful resolutions!; It is super easy to get caught up in surface-level things. Think of things that will bring more meaning to your life and try to work towards those.

  3. Get more specific with your goals; Being broad can sometimes get in the way of what you want to achieve. Being more specific can help you nail down your resolutions.

We have put together a list of achievable goals you can choose from:

10 Healthy and Achievable goals for Your New Year Resolutions

  1. Make more time for your family!

  2. Upgrade your sleep routine: Try and get at least 8 hours of sleep every night

  3. Find a new passion/hobby

  4. Spend less time on your phone

  5. Create small budgets for yourself if possible

  6. Get active: this can mean just taking a walk or doing a full workout, but get moving! It helps to clear your mind.

  7. Write in a journal/ read more books

  8. Keep up with your doctor appointments and health screenings

  9. Focus on your mental health! Practice self-care in any way that helps you like spending time alone, going to therapy, hanging out with friends, family, or pets

  10. Practice more self-love!

Conclusion

Making New Year's resolutions is a great way to kick off a new beginning but it is also important to remember that setting achievable and specific goals can help you make actual progress! Making smaller resolutions is in no way a step back but a step forward into making them a reality with gradual improvements throughout your journey. Remember to take your time. Happy New Year Everyone! Cheers to 2024 :)
